One of the best weekends I’ve spent in years was one on Lummi Island, Washington with REC. The food is delicious, the venue is beautiful and extremely comfortable. The unique and creative projects we learned to do inspired me to continue exploring. I’d recommend REC Retreats to anyone looking for a way to relax, restore, and rejuvenate! A++!”

“If you’re looking for a comfortable, invigorating and memorable new experience, I highly recommend treating yourself to a REC Retreat. Kjerstin, founder of REC, could not have been more welcoming, warm and thoughtful as we all enjoyed the gorgeous Lummi Island accommodations. It was great fun with a lovely group of folks in a beautiful setting. Looking forward to returning soon!”

“REC Art Retreat was SO much fun. I would not have missed it! Our one big project was thoroughly enjoyable, and all the other little projects that Kjerstin had sitting around, take it or leave it style, were just right. The food was scrumptious at every meal. The home is so lovely and comfortable and sleeping quarters entirely comfortable. And the setting – Lummi Island is a dreamy spot with so much to offer! The view from Kjerstin’s home across Puget Sound and over to Mount Baker is ‘to die for.’ Last but not least, Kjerstin is a natural host with so much to offer. I can’t give this very special weekend enough praise!

SO MUCH FUN! I never would have imagined that making a bird house could be so much fun. But it was. Kjerstin did a great job of guiding and supporting both the neophyte and the skilled artist. The people [participants] made the weekend a success. I would highly recommend this retreat and would assume any other retreat that Kjerstin runs would be equally delightful. Book fast before the waiting lists get long.”

“I had a wonderful time staying at REC Retreats on Lummi Island. I chose the Art Retreat and even though I am not a natural “crafter”, I found the activities fun and very “doable”. I went home with several lovely and personalized handmade items. I enjoyed meeting and laughing with a diverse group of fun and interesting women. The retreat house is lovely and the hospitality was very warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxing and the food was terrific. Saturday night’s dinner was especially delicious. It was a great weekend and I would definitely go back!”

“I would highly recommend a retreat with Kjerstin. It was very relaxing, and very comfortable. Truly, there were all levels of ability and experience. I enjoyed the kind comments and encouragement everyone gave to one another – that helped to make it a fantastic experience.

One could feel that Kjerstin put a lot of time, thought and energy into preparing for the weekend. And one could feel her love for doing what she does. Thank you, Kjerstin!”

“Great weekend getaway! I felt pampered, rejuvenated, and ready to resume my life with new creative gusto. Great food, engaging activities, and a supportive environment. Did I mention FUN!? I would so do this again and take a friend to share it with. Thanks Kjerstin!”

“On arrival [at the retreat], I was excited about learning new skills and anxious about my lack of ideas. I never felt rushed or pressured. The time allowed for each activity was just right and I enjoyed each of the projects. I definitely felt pampered. I struggle for words to describe the ‘spa feel/experience/rejuvenation’ I felt as I left.”

“I loved the “openess” and the extra space in the house to spread out. I got into the creative mood right away and knew I was in good hands when I saw the creative touches everywhere. I’m glad the schedule wasn’t too tight and we could find extra projects at our leisure.”
