What if I get sick at the last minute and can’t attend my event?

First, I’m sorry to hear you aren’t feeling well and I hope you start feeling better soon! The cancellation policy varies depending on which retreat you have chosen. Please check the cancellation policy stated on your registration material.

I’m reluctant to share a room with someone I don’t know, but I still want to participate in the retreat.

Register early and reserve one of the two private rooms ahead of time. While you will still share one of the two large bathrooms with a few other participants, you will have your own room for the weekend.

- The deluxe Mt. Baker Room has a king bed, fireplace, flat screen tv, balcony and a stunning view of the sunrise over the mountains. +$150

- The cozy Writer’s Room has a full-size antique brass bed and oak rocker. There is a built-in desk if you hope to do some journaling during your retreat. +$115

I’m registering with a friend. Can we be placed in the same room?
Of course! In fact, if you are close friends, willing to share a queen or king bed, you might be eligible to receive a $75 discount off the price of your retreat.

I'm looking forward to a lot of rest and relaxation during my weekend retreat, and I don't want to be busy all day.

Participate in all, some or none of the planned activities! It’s perfectly ok to opt-out of any scheduled event – recline in an Adirondack chair on the sunny deck, journal on the beach, explore our many island hiking trails, or indulge in a midday nap! In rare instances, an instructor may "build" upon knowledge gained during an earlier activity, and would prefer you to participate so you don't miss out on important learning. Check with the retreat leaders.

I don't have any experience, but would love to come to a retreat and learn a new skill. Can beginners participate?

Every retreat is different, but for the most part, retreat leaders teach the basics at every retreat, so you are able to participate in any retreat with absolutely no previous experience.

I have particular dietary requirements. Will those be accommodated?

Please contact REC Retreats directly so we can learn more about your specific needs. We do our best to provide delicious, healthy food for everyone. Very occasionally, dietary needs are such that we ask participants to bring some provisions for themselves, but let’s talk and see what we can do for you, first!

Do I take a ferry to get to Lummi Island?

Indeed, you do! The faithful Whatcom Chief will bring you safely to the island. The crossing is brief - only 7 minutes. The lines are short - generally under 40 minutes. The fees are some of the lowest in the state and the view positively can't be beat!  Click here for schedules, fee information and more!
